View scale vs. drawing scale

Gears Esteemed Contributor Gears Esteemed Contributor
Gears Esteemed Contributor

Been playing with drawing sheet scale & individual view scales.

NX10.0.3 MP1

Say a sheet is 1:1 scale

I place 3 views at the default scale (1:1), then I add a view at a different scale (say 1:4)

Now I change the sheet scale to 1:2.

ALL the views (including the 1:4 one) change scale to 1:2

Is there some way to prevent the views that are NOT the same as the sheet scale from changing scale when the sheet scale is changed?

I *thought* (could be a "senior moment") in like 10.0.2, the views that were "odd" scales remained "as set" when the sheet scale changed.

I had a quick look at customer defaults but nothing seemed obvious...

Thanks...Ken

This is by design. If you want to change the size of an existing drawing but keep the view scale the same, you must first create an expression for the desired view scale, and then use that expression to set the scale of the view.  Then, when you change the size of the drawing sheet, the view remains tied to the expression value.
