i don't now for sure that there is any associative divide/split feature for a curve.
What i do sometimes is to make a surface of the curve, then split/divide the curve and after that i use the edges of the divide sheets to use further in the design
Hi @ruud_vandenbrand Thanks for sharing your workaround!
Generally I would create a short line at the dividing point on the curve and then select the partial curve with "Stop at Intersection" for other operations.
I can't understand why only Divide Curve is designed to be non-associative.
Divide body used to be unassociative; meaning it would remove all parameters from your file, leaving you with 2 dumb bodies. Trim curve used to be unassociative only until recently. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an associative divide curve option in a future release of NX. Have you contacted GTAC to open an enhancement request?
They may be aware of the issue, but filing an IR/ER would make them aware of your NEED for the enhancement.
Production: NX10.0.3.5 MP16/TC11.2
I'd rather be e-steamed than e-diseaseled
Starting NX11.0.1, the Trim Curve dialog now has a Trim or Divide section where you can change the Operation to Divide. Given this, you should be able to figure out how to associatively divide the curve.
