compare two surfaces

I want to compare two surfaces created with different internal control curves.

Deviation Checking indicates only the single point with the maximum distance.

Is it possible to indicate the deviation as Face Curvature Analysis does with curvature?

Thanks!

@surfactant,

That's a bit of a loaded question. What kind of deviation do you wish to check? There's distance, angular and continuity deviation types.

If it's simply distance, then Deviation Checking using Face to Face will indicate as many points as you tell it to in the U and V directions as well as give you the min, max and average deviation (in terms of distance, not continuity).

Hi @TimF

Sorry for confusion in my original question. As you guessed, I just meant maximum distance.

Yes. Deviation Checking using Face to Face would give a text list of a specified number of points of max/min ... I'm thinking about whether there's some kind of visulization tool indicate where maximum errors occur on the surfaces.

Thanks!
