multple datum planes with section curve

How does one create multiple datum planes with the section curve command?

 

For "type", I'm using "Parallel Planes"

 

For "Object to section" I chose all the faces on my object.

 

For "Base Plane" I chose the datum plane at z=0. I get an error message that states  "Modeler Error"

What version of NX are you using and could you at least provide a picture of what you're attempting to do (the actual part file would be better)?

Are you dealing with the same part geometry as this thread:

If so, you will need to fix the geometry errors before taking sections.

I'm using NX10. I'll try and post a pic.

Thanks for the reply. I'm ignoring that part for now. This would be a general slicing method that I could apply to any part.
