but when i opens NX first and then try to open part file , surprisingly part gets displayed.

FYI

Problem is for Native NX.

You need to have WebKey Login details, if you don't have create account from this link: https://www2.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/webkey/

Please refer to this post then: NX – Fixing issues with opening NX files from Windows Explorer

@Ajinkya1
Does it occurs on a specific machine ?

Try the options suggested by @SamadhanGaikwad.

@Inch - I guess you know this environment pretty well. You can chime in. This NX8.5 environment reminded my working days at the Insert Design Pune team before SAP PLM implementation at Sandvik. Smiley Very Happy

Ha ha, @GaneshKadole I didn't know you'd visited the Sandvik site in Pune. I've never been there myself Man Wink

I can confirm that using the Default Programs Editor is the way forward. It really helps sort out the registry around this kind of thing without using regedit.

For reference, our command line in that tool looks like this:

Note that ours does not use the "-version=Vxy.z" parameter as described in the article linked to by @SamadhanGaikwad, so whatever NX version is specified in the UGII_BASE_DIR is used, rather than a specific version.
