weird result of Divide Face

Valued Contributor
Valued Contributor
The example below is extracted from a big model.
  • myFace is a Thru Curve Mesh surface
  • mySection (blude curve) is a section curve on myFace

Divide Face uses mySection to divide myFace. The result looks weird!

Could you help fix it? Thanks!

If the plane of mySection is used directly to split myFace, everything is ok. My guess is that Divide Face would reparameterize the surface and Split Body would not.

Edit the divide face feature and change the projection direction to "normal to face" to see if that helps.

Hi @cowski1   Thanks! I checked it again. It's "Normal to Face" by default. And it's a section curve lying on the face.

When I open your part file, the projection direction is set to "normal to curve plane". Changing it to "normal to surface" gives the result you are looking for.
