New to the latest release of NX we see the Techincal Data Package. The technical data package (or TDP) is a fully integrated TDP solution for NX. This will allow for collaboration with the supplier, manufacturing, inspection and quality, assembly, service and  any others requiring access to 3D content.

TDP features: 

  • Effortless publishing of Technical Data Packages from NX
  • Multiple output formats: 3D PDF and JT plus PDF
  • Create and publish company-specific configurable templates
  • Eliminate reliance on traditional 2D drawings
  • Enables the sharing of annotated 3D models across the enterprise


The TDP has two primary components. The template environment and publish mechanism.

The template environment

  • Contains task-specific environment for creating company-specific Technical Data Package templates
  • A simplified user interface that is task-specific
  • A robust toolset of configurable commands and settings
  • Options for JT-based and 3D PDF templates
