The vehicle design automation (VDA) software (General Packaging) is a suite of tools within NX™ to aid in the design of vehicles, enabling engineers to validate automotive designs against safety, occupant ergonomics and visibility standards.
In NX 12.0.2 a number of enhancements have been made to the Base Data and the Close Range Visibility functions.
Base Data now allows you to define the class of vehicle, either Class A for cars or Class B for trucks, this value will then be used in setting the correct options in downstream vision, ergonomics and safety functions.
Also added to the Base Data function are the SAE J1100 values for steering wheel diameter and angle, to be used in future functionality.
The close range visibility command, which checks against the MLIT 619 standard to identify how much of the test cylinders are visible to the driver by eye , mirror and camera, has been enhanced to support an additional camera type. The field of view camera allows you to specify the vision limits of a camera using a surface body. This provides more accuracy when using camera mounted around the vehicle.
