Sheet Metal: Renew Feature

NX12 has been a well-received release from Sheet Metal users. This is the fifth in a series of articles highlighting what’s new.

In NX11, the Renew function was added to the Modeling application allowing users to choose which features were updated to the latest version.  This is now available in Sheet Metal.

Renew will cause a legacy feature, (created in NX8 or later), to update as per the latest feature version – effectively “recreating” the feature in the current version of NX.

You do not have to manually recreate the feature with the same inputs to get the enhanced functionality in the current version. You have full control to decide which features are updated to latest version behaviour.

So, once a feature is renewed it's done for that release right. One can't renew it again and hence the feature is no more shown in renew block if it's already renewed once in that release. My question is : Can we undo renew?

Hello @Rahul572,

Renew participates in the standard NX Undo capability.  Once the part has been saved (and the Undo list cleared) there is no going back, just like any other feature creation or edit.

Remember, you only need to renew a feature if you want to take advantage of the new capability provided since the feature was created.
