Transfer Attributes in NX 11.0.1

NX 11.0.1 introduces the ability to transfer face, edge, body, and curve attributes (object, color, name) when using Divide Curve, Divide Face, and Split Body commands.  Only the attributes from the input object are transferred to the output – so when the operation is complete, the existing and new objects will have the same attributes.  Attributes from any trimming or bounding objects are not transferred.  Attributes are transferred to objects of the same type (i.e., face to face) only.

The following illustrates the behavior in NX 11 and earlier.

Face color is used to illustrate the behavior.

If the Divide Face command is used, the following will be observed:NX 11 trim.png

Note that the faces have been divided, but the attributes (color in this case) are not transferred to the output objects.

In NX 11.0.1, the attributes on the input objects are transferred to the output objects.

The picture below illustrates the same command used in the same situation as shown above:NX 1101 trim.png

Notice that the input and output faces now all have the same attirbutes (color used to illustrate above).

This new behavior is controlled by a customer default:
