Provides workflow support for customers that do not persist an assembly file in their weld lifecycle and eliminates the manual work of revising link types after the weld is created.
we have Weld Assistant license and I would like to understand better this new setting. Can you explain with an example?
To begin with a little explanation of position indepenedent link is in order:
A position-independent linked object or PILO is linked geometry:
That you can position at any location and orientation that your design requires.
That is not affected if you reposition the parent geometry.
So when a weld feature is generated with this option toggled 'on' the faces that get linked from a weld parent component part into the part file containing the welds will be PILO, thus having the characteristics described above. The welds position will not be moved even if the parent geometry is repositioned.
Thanks for the interest and I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding the Weld Assistant.
