Thanks for the quick response. Does the C++ API provide the option to convert the CAD file into a 2D image(say PNG or JPG)? I did check the API docs, but was not able to find this information.
I don't see any calls for that. It has calls for reading and writing JT, but I don't see any other formats.

No, it does not. It is intended to allow you to read and write .JT files.
You could try searching the web to see if anyone has created such a converter.
If the file is loaded in NX, you can use the NXOpen API to export screenshots (jpg, png, bmp, tiff, etc). Look for CreateImage in the NXOpen docs.
