Converting a spline to lines and arcs

Are there any tips or ideas on how to convert a spline into lines and arcs?

Not the simplify button.

"Not the simplify button."

Because that is too easy?  Smiley Happy

I need them to end up tangent

1) You didn't say that in the original post

2) This is a MUCH more difficult problem (maintaining both tangency and tolerance)

In lieu of other solutions, one possibiity is:

- create lines/arcs using "simplify curve"

- then add fillets of an appropriate radius at each "non-tangent" curve transition

Calculating the fillet radius could be "interesting" (i.e. so tolerance is maintained)

Re: Converting a spline to lines and arcs

The lines and arcs produced by the Simplify function **are** tangent (or, at least, they are supposed to be)
