To all,

Is there a way of having the customised menu greyed-out until a .sim, .a fem , etc is opened? I saw the HIDE option but it's not what I want

Thanks

Regards

You can make the .MEN file application specific.

Depending on the NX release there are different ways of doing so.

What NX release are you using?

Have you checked the menuscript reference on adding application specific menu files?

Just re-read the doc and still a bit confused (but then the whole NX documentation is confusing!). I think I found what I had in mind but it's not a simple answer. Cannot be that difficult to write a couple of pages describing the steps to follow with a good/typical example! Anyway. I have my .men and an .rtb file in my /startup directory and I cannot figure out which one is picked up by NX when lauching the app.

Genius

for application specific Ribbons you need to go to your UGII_SITE_DIR folder (for example) and create an "application" folder.
Then create a "profiles" folder under "application" and then e.g. a folder named "UG_APP_MODELING" under "profiles".
If you put a *.RTB file there it will be specific to modeling application.
You can find the folder names under "%UGII_BASE_DIR%\UGII\menus\profiles\"

There is a best practice guide available for the ribbon bar, which is very good.

Search this forum for "ribbon" and you should get some useful hits.
