We currently have a routine that uses ug_inspect to look at a part file and export out a Parasolid form an NX file, the only drawback being that it takes out the largest solid by file size. 90% of the time this is fine, but there is theb odd occasion when the solid export is not correct.
Does anyone have a routine that can inspect an NX file and export out either a Parasoid or STEP of the Solid in view in the file, rather than inspect all solid (some of which may be hidden)?
Probably should have said but this is done outside of NX using Poweshell, so I need something that works in a similar way.
You can compile an EXE from NXOpen API that exports the requested formats.
Using "%UGII_ROOT_DIR%\run_journal.exe", you can also execute a recoded journal, that you edited to be more portable for the selection of the solid to export.
Both is done without the need to have an existing NX session running.
