just did the updgrad to NX10. Is there a way of exporting a custom toolbar (My Items/My User Commands) from NX9 to import in NX10? Or do I have to re-create everyting from sractch!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Anything you have done inside of NX, to customize the tool bars or ribbons, must be recreated from scratch.
If you like to have this available separately, you will have to create a tool bar file using NX menuscript.
Production: NX10.0.3, VERICUT 8.0, FBM, MRL 3.1.4 | TcUA 10.1 MP7 Patch 0 (10.1.7.0) | TcVis 10.1
Development: VB.NET, Tcl/Tk Testing: NX12.0

Thanks . Fantastic, more time spent waffing about with NX.....

If you use file-based customization, then you can easily add your NX 9 toolbar to your NX 10 ribbon.
If you don’t have it, there is a very good document on customizing the ribbon, and transitioning toolbars: https://download.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/unigraphics/ugdoc/nx9/nx-9.0.0/NX_Ribbon-Cu...
Interactive customizations are stored in the user.mtx file located in:
There's not a supported way of migrating these. You could try simply copying the file from the NXN90 folder to NXN100. If not, it's just XML, so you may be able to use differencing tools, etc. to figure out what to strip out and copy to the new version.
Long term, you should use toolbar/menu/ribbontab files to make "permanent" UI customizations.
