How to get the automatic Element size within Mesh dialogs? (CAE)

Hi all,

is there a possibility to get the automatic Element size for a selected object like a polygon body?

In other words I would like to automate the little yellow flash in the tetrahedral mesh dialog.

Does anyone know how to do this or at least is there a workaround?

Best regards,

MGeyer

Re: How to get the automatic Element size within Mesh dialogs? (CAE)

Hi MGeyer,

you get the Auto Mesh Size using the following UF Function:

NXOpen.UF.Sf.GetAutoElementSize(numObjects,objectsP)

with

  - numObjects (int) – No of bodies in objects_p array
  - objectsP (Tag) – list of bodies from which to calculate auto size

Returns the AutoSize as Integer,

Example:

        autoSize=theUFSession.Sf.GetAutoElementSize(1, bodytag)

Best Regards
Boris

Hi Boris,

thank you for your Answer!

Initially your Presentation about NX Open at the CAE Herbsttagung made me curious on how to do that, but I was not able to catch you for a short talk ;-).
