someone has a Journal that import parts reading from Excel ?
The scope is to create an assembly reading the BOM structure from an Excel file avoiding the 'Add Component' each time.
This is my desire workflow :
Have the assembly open, click the button 'Create assembly structure', select an Excel file with the first column part number and NX add component from my load options setting.

Assuming that you can add the parts based on the Excel column - how do you envision placing the parts in the assembly - relative to each other; Contraints, absolute origin, etc.?
Add constraints relation is my succesive works.
Add components manually is a time consuming, but with this tool I can save time.
Please remind me I will create one for you. it should be easy one. I will appreciate if you give step by step exact requirements.
An alternative could be to use the existing utilty "%ugii_base_dir%\ugii\ug_assy_build.exe".
The UG_assy_Build is a great tool but as far as I Know it does not creat any constraints ?
is ther a way to build a assambly with constraints between the build in parts ? e.g Load in acouple of parts->poition coord. sys 1 from part 1 on coord. sys 2 of part 2 ... and so on ?

Using excel files can be a hedache so to simplify things could you use a csv file?
You can still edit the csv file in excel or export your excel sheet as a csv file if you prefer.
This can then be opened as a streamreader like in the example below.

Then all you need to do is open each file and then add them to the assy file.
