We have old parts where some settings in the parts are not correct anymore.
These are 4 steps that I would like to bring into a journal, but unfortunately I am not an NX-Open specialist.
The 4 steps are:
- Load "Use System Color Palette"
- Edit Background to set "Default Graduated Colors"
- Sketch Preferences "Inherit from Customer Defaults"
- Drafting Preferences "Load from Customer Defaults"
I also made some screenshots to show these 4 steps.
Does anyone know if this could be done within a journal?

Hi @TomK76 ,
You can record a macro from Menu -> Tools -> Macro -> Start Record coevering above scenarios.
I've read somwhere that it's good practice to record a 1st step of switching to Gateway application and then recording other scenarios in Macro so that user can run it when he/she's in any application.
I've attached a macro with above 4 scenarios which runs fine in Modeling/Gateway application.
Hi @TomK76 ,
I don't know about giving message to user about execution of macro.
Below is the video showing how to link macro/journal to a UI button.
@TomK76 , when macro execution is completed, at status bar (at the below), you can see message "Macro plaback terminated". This can give the user a clue that macro has been executed successfully. If at all, there is any issue, macro will throw a error message in pop-up.
Edit: In journal, we can add a code to display a message box if needed.
