NX9 and Visual Studio 2012

The officially supported version of visual studio is 2012 update 1

Too bad I can't seem to get it from Microsoft anymore.

I'm not about to download it from 3rd party sites (if its not from ...microsoft.com, I can't trust it to not be hacked).

Does anyone have extensive (or any) experience with NX9 and Vis studio 2012 update 2 or update 4?

Thanks...Ken

I asked GTAC about this back in April.

Here's the answer I got:

We only certify one compiler version for each NX version.

I think that you should be OK if you use the Update 4 or just use the base version without any updates at all. Microsoft tries very hard to keep compatibility between these updates, but doesn't guarantee it.

Please do let us know if you encounter any problems when using the base release or the base+update 4. I'm not sure we could do anything about them but we would certainly like to hear about them. So far no one has reported any problems other than the inability to find the supported Update 1 as you have.

JimB -

I guess I wasn't clear enough.  I can get VS 2012 (it's already installed).

The issue is getting Update 1 (I've gotten Update 2 as an ISO image, and update 4 is easy to find, but not update 1)

If you have a MSDN subscription, you can get Update 1 at:

Hello Ken,

Did you try Update 2 or 4 or other version? Did they work?

I was also wondering what is the right update version for NX 10.0.3.

Thanks,

Kai

I eventually found it within Moog.

But then we switched so now we're upgrading to NX10.

Current supported compiler is in the release notes
