At what point in NX9 does a part become modified?

Is there a set rule on when that happens?

On view modifications like changing from wire-frame to shaded.

On modification or creation of any NX object.

If you open a file that was last saved in an older version of NX, the file structure will be updated to your current version and it will be marked as modified. If you have a lot of older "read-only" files, there will be a small performance hit every time you open the file. It is a good idea to run the "refile_part" utility on your parts when you upgrade NX.
