Hello

I have some how managed to project a point on a curve with nearest distance on to a curve

it takes huge efforts to achieve this thing in interactive NX session

can some one help to do it in easier way or get this functionality as a new enhancement in NX

Perhaps I'm missing something, but have you tried: menu -> analysis -> measure distance (type: distance, Distance: minimum, associative, create output geometry)? This will create a point on the composite curve and a line (which you can use as a vector) from the start point to the point on the line.

I saw NX 11 in your signature so I answered according to that version. I just now noticed the NX 9 in your screenshot. In NX 9, the measurement value will be accurate, but the created geometry won't be associative.
