I defined new system variables: Systems/Advanced System Settings

but there is a (full) explanation in the doc too

https://docs.plm.automation.siemens.com/tdoc/nx/10/nx_api/#uid:genid_environment_variables_36_1466

Production: NX9.0.3.4, NX10.0.2.6

Note he is asking about UGII_ROOT_DIR (not one of the custoimization ENVs)

Do you also have a "user" level system variable? (Top half of the "Environment variables" dialog)?

If you have both "system" (bottom half) and user (top half), the user over-rides the system

try opening a command prompt window and typing "Set UG" and see what it returns

How (exactly) are you starting NX?

Start -> All Programs --> Siemens... -> NX 10.0?
