Seeing NX9 Part Properties in Windows Explorer Column

I'm working in NX9 native.

Is there a tool that allows me to see custom part properties of an NX prt file in Windows Explorer? (Win7 64bit)

If you have NX5 installed it is possible.

There was a dll that could do it:

select start > run and type regsvr32 "%ugii_base_dir%"\ugii\ugpropext.dll

You can then see the attributes in a Windows Explorer properties dialog (see image).

It was removed however from NX6 upwards. Why I'm not certain, but it must have been causing issues

so use the above information at your own risk.

Occasionally, in idle moments, I have considered the idea of exporting NX part file properties and writing then as "real" Windows properties. Then they'd be visible in Windows Explorer. You'd have to run this code on every "save", I suppose, to ensure that the Windows properties are kept up to date. Has anyone tried this?

When is your next "idle" moment? Smiley Wink

I would love to have a journal/macro that does that.

And I can imagine I won't be the only one.
