Thousands of hidden .eds*tmp files slowing down NX

I have found that there are thousands of hidden .eds*tmp files located in the folders pointed to by UGII_SITE_DIR and UGII_GROUP_DIR.

The files are of zero length, but their amount slows down NX.

This has started to be annoying in NX 8.5.3, but with NX 10.0.3 it is a real problem.

How can we prevent their creation?

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Stefan,

Did you find a solution for this? I am having the same problem.

Thanks,

Alyssa

Re: Thousands of hidden .eds*tmp files slowing down NX

I have now a scheduled task to delete these files if they are left over by NX.

There is also ER#7651279 "Change the NX write access checks to not create .eds*tmp files in directories" still open, so feel free to request GTAC to be added to it.
