UI Builder stringblock: Prevent illegal characters being entered?

To all,

In a UI builder Stringblock is it possible to "preven" illegal characters to be entered (such as ? * \ / ¦  and son on)? At the moment I am planning to cacth them either on the update_cb() or apply_cb()  callback (using a regex!) but was wondering if I can have that on the GUI as an optin to "tick".

Thanks

Regards

Re: UI Builder stringblock: Prevent illegal characters being entered?

Currently the String block has nothing built into it to filter out 'illegal' characters. And it does not have a callback to handle individual keystrokes so there is no way to wriet your own.

I think the best you can do is handle the input in the Update() callback as you suggested.
