Upgrading from NX9 to NX11, along with Tc9 to Tc11, so while everyone is offline for the Tc upgrade, I want to migrate the user files from the NX9custom to NX11custom location.
Do all the files need to go, or only certain ones?
These I am bringing for sure:
Anything else, that will make the move as seamless as possible for users, and keep my phone from blowing up after the upgrade?
Or would you suggest I migrate everything, and let NX11 update/change whatever it needs?
I would think about not doing most of them.
I realize the user ends up more "as installed" GUI, but some things (e.g. dialog memory) may hide stuff that's new in NX11.
Note also, NX11 will FORCE the "ribbon" GUI. If anyone was still using the legacy "toolbars" interface, I'm not sure how the old files will help (and they might hurt)
I don't migrate anything for our users (but then I might not hear the wailing & gnashing of teeth when they open the new version ;-). Some users will try reloading roles or whatever, but I leave that up to them.
Production: NX10.0.3.5 MP5 + patch/TC11.2
I'd rather be e-steemed than e-diseaseled
