User Defined Objects (UDO) in Assembly context

Hello Everyone!

I have a question about usage of UDOs in an assembly context.

When i try linking a UDO with an object outside of a work part in an assembly, i get an exception <Cannot link UDO to objects outside of work part.>

Is this expected behaviour? Is there a work around for this? One of the options would be to link the geometry entity into the work part and then link the UDO to the linked geometry, but that seems a little round about if that is the only option.

Thoughts?

Cheers!

What NX Object are you trying to link and what type of link are you using ?

Thanks.
