ug_clone sintax

Hi,

I've the assembly1.prt with model1.prt and model2.prt insiede.

I would like to use the ug_clone utilities to rename model1.prt into model3.prt.

I use this sintax ug_clone -o=edit -asse=assembly1.prt -par=model1.prt –default_n=user_name -n=repalece:model1:model3 but I'm not able to use this utility.

Can someone help me to resolve this ?

Attached the assembly

Thank you...

Using NX 11 / RuleDesigner PDM

Re: ug_clone sintax

Try "ug_edit_part_names" from the command prompt instead. The "-help" switch will print out the syntax.

That might get you what you want.

Re: ug_clone sintax

Cubalibre00,

Two choices:

1)

Use ug_clone.exe -operation=edit -load_log_file=edit.clone.txt

Where the edit.clone.txt file contains the results of the dryrun operation. (the next to the last line should not be split due to word wrap)

Assembly Cloning Log File
&LOG Operation_Type: EDIT_IN_PLACE_OPERATION
&LOG Default_Cloning_Action: RETAIN
&LOG Default_Naming_Technique: USER_NAME
&LOG Default_Container: ""
&LOG Default_Directory: ""
&LOG Default_Part_Type: ""
&LOG Default_Part_Name: ""
&LOG Default_Part_Description: ""
&LOG
&LOG Part: "E:\assembly1.prt"
&LOG Cloning_Action: DEFAULT_DISP
&LOG Part: "E:\model1.prt" Cloning_Action: CLONE Naming_Technique: DEFAULT_NAMING Clone_Name: "E:\model3.prt"
&LOG Part: "E:\model2.prt" Cloning_Action: DEFAULT_DISP

2)

(single line command)

ug_clone -o=edit -assembly=assembly1.prt -default_action=clone -default_naming=name_rule -name_rule=replace:"1":"3"

 HTH, Joe
