How to Insert image in a post

I noticed that some posts have images mixed right in with the text.  I have tried using the Windows "Snipping Tool" and then the "paste" function, but it does not seem to work for me.  What do I need to do to get this to work?  And on a broader scale, is there a place where I can learn the tricks of the trade for this forum?

Thanks.

When replying to a thread, use the "photos" button then drag & drop the image file (or use the browse button to locate the file) to upload the file and insert it into your reply. Once the photo uploads, the editor will give you some formatting choices for the image.

You must save the image to the file system before you can upload it to the server.

This is not Word, this is a web page, so no direct pasting.
