George Allen has 37 years’ experience in developing computer-aided design (CAD) software and in helping major corporations use it to improve their productivity. He is recognized world-wide as a leading expert in the field both by academics and industry executives. He has led the development of several new technologies in the NX CAD software, especially in the area of geometric design. His advice and guidance have served to improve productivity at some of the world’s largest manufacturing companies, including GM, Nissan, Honda, Boeing, and Canon.

Mike Atkins manages the group responsible for the product development and customer support of the D-Cubed Components. He has held this position since joining D-Cubed Limited in 1990, when he was the sole member of the group, and there was one product with two customers. Mike and his team are now responsible for the six D-Cubed products, ensuring that they meet the needs of an extensive and diverse range of customers and end user applications. Mike has been working with software components for nearly 33 years. His first job after finishing his PhD in CFD at the University of Cambridge was with Shape Data Limited, initially working on the Romulus solid modeller, and then on Parasolid.

Gavin has over 20 years of experience in developing software tools for the Engineering Software market. He has a deep interest in the areas of Visualization, Data Translation and 3D PDF and has played a key role in adopting Tech Soft 3D’s technology to cloud and mobile environments. Gavin has been closely involved in forging the close relationship with the Siemens PLM Components group that recently resulted in their decision to resell the HOOPS Exchange technology to the Parasolid community. Gavin holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Trinity College, Dublin and a M.Sc. in Industrial Applied Mathematics from Dublin City University.

James Dagg is the Chief Technical Officer for Altair’s modeling, visualization and math-based solutions and strategy. With a primary responsibility to create an exceptional user experience across Altair’s entire software portfolio, Mr. Dagg’s organization is focused on making Altair’s simulation, math and optimization technologies available to a broader audience to accelerate sound business and product design decisions. For more than 25 years, Mr. Dagg has been a visionary behind Altair’s software strategy and development activities. Prior to his role as CTO, Mr. Dagg was the Senior Vice President for Altair’s newest subsidiary, solidThinking®. In this role, he was responsible for leading the development of its concept design technologies, Inspire and Evolve. Dagg received his BSME in 1988 from the University of Michigan and his MS in Applied Mechanics from U of M in 1993.

Sean Flaherty is Chief Strategy Officer of Nemetschek SE. With his profound knowledge of international markets and looking back on many years of experience in the software industry, he forms part of the Executive Board of Nemetschek SE. In this function, he accounts for the overall Nemetschek Group strategy and its performance in the global architecture, engineering, construction and management markets.  In addition, he is responsible for the group-wide M&A strategy, its technology development and PR industry establishment. An innovator and proponent of computer aided design (CAD) software for more than 25 years, Sean is an industry veteran who has played an instrumental part in creating design software that works the way designers think, and he was a proponent of Building Information Modeling (BIM) before it became an industry trend.  He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.

Etienne Ferré manages the Research and Development team for Kineo Software components. He joined Kineo CAM Company at its creation in 2001 as CTO. His knowledge in Path planning and Collision detection has allowed him to publish numerous scientific articles in innovative algorithms for industrial applications in robotics and digital mockup. Etienne played an integral role in the company’s evolution from a 4-person startup until its acquisition by Siemens in 2012. Since the acquisition, he is responsible for leading all Kineo R&D projects. Etienne graduated from Ecole Polytechnique Paris.

Jon is a Founder and Chairman of the Board at Onshape. Jon holds a Bachelors and Masters from MIT, and has worked in CAD for over 30 years. He was a Founder and CEO of SolidWorks, a group executive at Dassault Systemes, director of engineering at Computervision, manager at the MIT CADLab, a player and instructor on the MIT Blackjack team, and a professional magician. He serves on the Engineering Advisory Board at Boston University and as an advisor to Magic Leap, Inc. and MarkForged, Inc. His hobbies include golf, 3D printing, tennis, yoga, and magic.

Ken Hosch is the Director of Innovation, Research, and Strategy for Siemens PLM Product Engineering Software. He has 20 years of experience in Product Lifecycle Management including Product Management, Product Marketing, and Software Development. He holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Business Administration.

CD-Adapco, a Siemens Business

Bill Jester serves as director of the STAR-CCM+ Pre and Post-Processing division, supervising programs involving geometry, interoperability, visualization, and graphics. He has worked with CD-adapco as a developer and manager since 2001, helping to build the integrated CAD, meshing, and analysis pipeline of the STAR-CCM+ simulation product. During this time he supervised several initiatives in the PLM space involving technologies like Parasolid, DCM, and JTOpen, along with integration efforts with commercial CAD systems and optimization tools. Bill has a Bachelors and Masters degree in engineering from Penn State University as well as a Ph.D. in Computational and Applied Mathematics from the University of Texas.

He is currently vice president and Chief Technology Officer of Siemens PLM Cloud Services.

Samuel Moura joined FARO in 2007 as a Software Engineer with several years of experience in 3D programming, software engineering and architecture. Since 2014 he directs the development for all FARO Metrology Software. In his current role he is responsible for several software product lines that make up FARO’s CAM2 Software product family which include high precision 3D measurement and metrology, automated inspection, manufacturing statistics and trend analysis software, using state-of-the-art technologies and agile methodologies. He holds a Licentiate degree in Software Engineering from ISEP in Porto and is based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. He’s a passionate engineer, father of two. In his free time he enjoys golfing and playing basketball.

Brad Rothenberg is the co-founder & CEO of nTopology Inc., a startup developing design software for industrial additive manufacturing. Brad has been working with 3D printing for 10 years & has a background in computational geometry in architecture. Brad received his B. Arch at Pratt institute in 2009.

Jim Rusk is senior vice president and Chief Technology Officer for Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Digital Factory Division. He and his team are responsible for providing shared platform, architecture, innovation and development services. Since joining the company in 1988, Rusk has built a reputation as a pioneer in engineering software. He has held numerous positions in product development, product marketing and product management, technical support and sales. Notably, he led the Digital Simulation Solutions group where he was responsible for all aspects of the company’s simulation business.

Andreas Saar is Vice President of the Manufacturing Engineering Solution business segment in Siemens PLM Software. In his current role, Andreas is responsible for the Additive Manufacturing initiative within Siemens PLM. This includes the definition and implementation of an end-to-end additive manufacturing process based on Siemens PLM platforms and technology. Andreas has 30+ years of experience in manufacturing and software development. He joined the company in 1994 and worked in various leading positions across product development with a focus on Digital Manufacturing.

Biplab has been with Vectorworks since 2000. After first serving as a manager of geometry and rendering, he was the chief technology officer from 2008 to 2016. With 25+ years of experience developing CAD software, he was promoted to CEO in April 2016. As CEO, Biplab provides strategic leadership to the company by establishing and meeting company sales, growth, and market share objectives. He continuously seeks out technology innovations and evaluates the competitive landscape to ensure Vectorworks software remains a best-in-class CAD and BIM solution for designers in the architecture, landscape, and entertainment industries. Prior to Vectorworks, he served as the director of research and development at Parametric Technology Corporation. In this role, he led a large international team of programmers in both the United States and India. He began his career as a software engineer at ICEM Systems and later became a software consultant at Intergraph. Biplab earned a Ph.D. in CAD and a M.S. in mechanical engineering at The Ohio State University.He also holds a B.Tech. in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

Boris Shoov is a 3D CAD and PLM industry veteran with over 20 years of software design and development experience. Boris directs company’s market expansion, covering sectors of design, engineering and manufacturing for mechanical and AEC software products, including PDM and PLM applications. He responsible for forming business alliances, developing partnerships and helping the company set strategic directions. Before joining AMC Bridge, for 18 years Boris has held a number of various positions at Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corporation, starting as a Senior Software Engineer in 1995, then moving to managing development teams, and then to an executive position, directing a department. Prior to SolidWorks, Boris was working at PTC Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer, developing its flagship Pro/ENGINEER (later Creo) 3D Modeling application. And before that, as a Mechanical Engineer designing and providing engineering support for manufacturing of automatic assembly lines for mechatronic devices. Boris earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering at Moscow State University of Oil and Gas.

Mr. Jon Stevenson serves as Vice President of Technology at Stratasys, Ltd. Mr. Stevenson served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of MCAD Solutions of Parametric Technology Corporation since May 2000. Mr. Stevenson was responsible for all aspects of the $750 million MCAD business, including product marketing, customer support, professional services, indirect distribution, and software development. Prior to working at PTC, Mr. Stevenson served as Managing Director of Shape Data in Cambridge, UK, where he was responsible for the development and marketing of Parasolid, the industry-leading solid modeling kernel. Mr. Stevenson also served in various management positions at UG Solutions, Designwave and Computervision. He has 19 years of software development and marketing experience. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at GrabCAD OÜ and GrabCAD, Ltd. Mr. Stevenson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach.

Markus Tretheway is Vice President of Product Management at Allplan GmbH and responsible for the strategic planning and management of the Allplan product portfolio as well as the BIM strategy of the company. Previously, he had been the head of sales, service and consulting at Allplan Switzerland and international for several years. Markus Tretheway has studied Digital Construction at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland.

Executive Consultant

Dr. Ken Versprille has over 35 years of experience in the application of computer-based solutions for engineering and manufacturing. He joined CIMdata after 16 years heading the Design Creation and Validation service at CPDA. His research spans geometric design, design collaboration and automation, PLM standards and openness, and the integration of CAD across PLM applications. During 15 years at Computervision, Dr. Versprille became the equivalent of CTO, and was R&D Vice President of core applications. He was a lead architect of the CADDS 4 product, with responsibility for the initial design of Computervision’s 3D graphics system. As General Manager of CV-Doors, he led the group that introduced and managed the CAD industry’s first geometric kernel business.


Dr. Versprille received a BS in Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire. His MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science are from Syracuse University. Dr. Versprille is recognized for publishing the first description of NURBS, the mathematical curve-and-surface formulation, now an international standard in CAD and Computer Graphics. In 2005 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award by The CAD Society.

Mike Zink is a Senior Product Manager and Openness Evangelist working from the Corporate Technology Office of Siemens PLM software. He has over 36 years of experience with software product development, project management and manufacturing support. Mike has Product Management responsibility for the Siemens PLM JT Toolkit and PLM XML Software Development Kit as well as JT2Go, the 3D data viewing tool for JT. He is also the Siemens PLM Software openness evangelist supporting openness in industry through programs such as the Code of PLM Openness and ISO standardization of JT. Mike has a Master Degree in Software Development and Management and Bachelor of Science in computer science from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Andrew Zukoski leads software development teams at Flux Factory focused on AEC interoperability, cloud infrastructure and geometry manipulation. Previously to Flux he was at 3D Systems and Bespoke Innovations. He has a background in integrated circuit design and additive manufacturing. Andrew holds a Bachelor's degree from Rice University in Electrical Engineering and Visual Art.
