I registered for PLM World last week. The hotel already charged me $159.19 for a deposit fee.
If you read the fine print on the registration form it does have a statement regarding deposits.
I have traveled around the world and have stayed in literally thousands of hotels and have NEVER had a hotel charge me a deposit fee 2 months in advance of my stay. I have contacted the hotel to inquire about this but have not heard back yet.
I want users to be aware of this beforehand.
I am going to have a hard time getting this expense report through approval
Hello @joycejo Thanks for your post.
As you mentioned this is part of the hotel policy, but we have informed our event coordinator, @Srutledge about your comment. She will get back to you with any additional information!
Thanks, we look forward to seeing you in Dallas!
hmm... not good. This will cause grief with expenses reports, as paying in advance for hotel stay is not accepted here either.
Thanks for sharing the info !
At this time no deposit is required. Be sure to book through the official PLM World housing link found here: http://www.plmworld.org/2015__hotel
@joycejo I will be in touch via email with you about recieving a refund of your deposit.
Thanks for following up on this. I will let you know when I get the credit for the deposit
I don't know, I've always had to pay one night in advance for the last several years when booking my room for the PLM Connections. I think this goes back to the first year we held this evet in Las Vegas. It's never messed up my expense reports as the final invoice that you get when you check-out indicates the total charges for your stay, including the pre-paid night. Granted, the idea of having to tie-up your money for a couple of months is a bummer, but...
thanks for your input John! Glad to hear you haven't had too much an issue with it!
