leadership-home.jpgWhat does the last man to have left his footprints on the lunar surface and the first American women's Everest expedition have in common? They are the headlining keynote speakers during the 2015 PLM Connection conference. Each year, PLM Connection keynote speakers aim to leave the participants feeling inspired and motivated, and this year is no exception.

Captain Eugene A. Cernan

Eugene Cernan was the last Apollo astronaut to walk on the moon and astronaut on several Apollo missions. While he chose not to continue with the shuttle program, he remained involved as a business consultant, was a television commentator, became a motivational speaker and most recently an author. His words of wisdom and years of experience should not be missed.

"Curiosity is the essence of human existence: Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? Was there life on Mars? Was there water? Is there life out there? The frontier of space is just a follow-on – we're following on in the footsteps of those who preceded us, and hopefully we'll give those that follow-on in our footsteps the same opportunity that we had."

Alison Levine

Alison Levine is a world-renowned adventurer. She has served as the team captain of the first American Women's Everest Expedition, scaled the highest peak on every continent, and skied to both the North and South Poles--an accomplishment known as the Adventure Grand Slam, which fewer than forty people in the world have achieved.

As a public speaker, she shares lessons learned from various extreme environments and explains how they apply to business and beyond. Her messages often provide a roadmap to help you scale whatever big peaks you aspire to climb by offering advice about how to reach your potential as a leader.

“Never let failure discourage you. Every time you get to the base of a mountain (literal or metaphorical), you're presented with a new opportunity to challenge yourself, to push your limits beyond what you thought possible, to learn from climbers on the trail ahead of you, and to take in some amazing views. Your performance on the mountain you climbed last week or last month or last year doesn't matter - because it's all about what you are doing right now.”
