Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV)

Hello,

I want to use "marker" instead of "tracks". With the help of the destination control I also can use the marker as stations. So good so far.

But now, I want to drive on a pallet for example and after a time I want to leave the pallet and drive autonom again. I can move on the pallet, but I can't go off the pallet anymore. Is it possible to mix the AGV with other elements?

Thanks in advance.

Hallo,

if the levels are in the same frame, like the AGV pool, then you just need to change the z-position of the marker to change the levels (set the defaultCurveRadius to a very small value). Until now, you cannot create the routing with other elements than the markers.

Hmm, good thing that Steffen has answered and thus pushed this one up again - I had prepared a small model a week ago but could not upload it due to login issues.

So here we go (see attachment); it's not exactly a nice solution, but I guess it's the best workaround we can currently have... It's possible to move AGVs into "regular" PlantSim objects, and it's possible to move them into a Pool explicitly. So you "just" need to place a dummy-pool everywhere you want to exit other PlantSim objects back to moving freely in the network.

And probably it's cumbersome but possible to dynamically create a dummy pool where you want to "enter the network"...

Thank you @Steffen_B.

Sorry for the late answer. This is not exactly what I meant. But I have a problem with your examplt. If I move the x- and y-Position of the markers to the same position (with different z-position), then I get a debug:

What do you mean with "defaultCurveRadius"? I haven't found this parameter. Neither in the model nor in the help.

Thank you @AlexD_SimPlan.

This solution would be possible. I think I will create a Dummypool in every network. Then I can move it to the destinated position, move the AGV, setRoute of the AGV and move the Dummypool back again.

It's an attribute of the AGV/Transporter MUs, and you haven't found it in the help, because it's missing there... (see thread#610160)

Thank you @AlexD_SimPlan,

It would be fine, if the debug had been more detailled. Because of the error you think that there is a marker missing.

Objects Reference Help > Mobile Objects > Transporter > Attributes of the Transporter > DefaultCurveRadius

Syntax

<MU-Path>.DefaultCurveRadius:length

The attribute DefaultCurveRadius sets the default curve radius of the AGV designated by <MU-Path.

Plant Simulation uses this value for computing the route of the AGV that is not bound to a fixed route network. The default curve radius sets the size of the roundings at the Markers.

Data Type of the Value You Can Assign

You can assign a value of data type length.

The route of an AGV can have markers with different z-value but it is not possible to drive between two markers only in z-direction.

Kind regards

Karola
