Charts to display in the frame

Hi All,

I hope you can help me. I have seen charts (buffer capacity etc.) displayed straight in the frame (so you dont have to click on the chart icon > show chart). Can this be done in Plant Simulation v11? Also, what other graph types can be displayed in the frame?

Thank you,

Irina

Hi Irina,

in the dialog of the chart object you have to select the 'Display' tab.

There you have the checkbox 'Display in frame'.

You can change the size of the chart by pressing <Shift>+<Ctrl>. Now you pick and drag the lower right corner to the desired size.

This works for all graph types of the chart object.

Thanks, Ralf, for helping out with this. Truely amazing how it makes the frame more effective.

Hi,

i found a way of including a chart, which will show worker statistics, into the frame. I used report icon instead of worker report icon for that and then drag/dropped the workers into the chart. The only problem I need your help solving is that the chart tracks instances of workers which get deleted every time the event controller is reset back, so my graph is literally invalid after each simulation.

Is there a method I can use to reset the chart entries/table file and make it track the valid worker instances every time? Many thanks!!

Hi Irina,

the Chart must be configured in an Init method, since the Workers are generated by Init.

Use instructions like

 local tab:table;
WorkerPool.getAssignedWorkersTable(Tab);

Chart.InputChannels.delete;
for local j := 1 to Tab.ydim loop
Chart.InputChannels[1,j]:=
to_str(Tab[1,j],".statServicesWorkingPortion");
next;

Please note that Plant Simulation has a tool for such purpose:

Open Manage Class Library > tab Libraries > item Worker Chart.

You can load the tool.

On the Start Page goto Example Models > Small Examples.

You will find an example for the tool Worker Chart:

Categoriy Resources, Topic: Worker
