Dialog.setItemsList ?

Legend
Legend

Hello,

There seems to be a lack of methods for the Dialog. There exists a getItemsList function to retrieve the different dialog items, but there is no way to set them all, e.g. setItemsList?

In addition, is it possible to access the x and y coordinates and the caption of a dialog element?

Hello verbalins,

unfortunately you're right, there is no method to set them all.

And it's also not possible to access x, y or caption.

Sorry about that!

Regards,

Ralf

Is this anything that is planned to be added? Adding x, y and width to the table generated by getItemsList and then adding a setItemsList would be enough.

Also, accessing sub-attributes right now is rather cryptic. Some attributes have them and others don't. Would it be possible to add some sort of explanation or a way of knowing which attributes have sub-attributes?

Hello verbalins,

at the moment there are no plans to add this functionality. We will add it to our list of features requests.

I agree with you, this has to be improved. We will work on this.

Ralf

Adding to this question, there also doesn't seem to be a method to set the data type for an Edit Text Box. Something like setTextBoxDataType.

There is the undocumented function setEditType(<Control Name>:string, <Type>:integer) which you can use.

It's undocumented because we were not sure if anyone would need it.

Your the first who is asking for it!

Great news, thank you!
And getEditType worked as well!

Is there by any chance a getGroupID? I think I'm getting greedy here...

Just to bank on what has been discussed here, a refined feature set for the dialog-object would be very nice, as well as some quality of life improvements for dialog building!

Is there a public/forum member list displaying features requested and their status (e.g. not considered / considered / planned for next release etc.) ? I'm thinking of something similar to what Google has with its Google Issue Tracker.
