Distributed simulation time taken

Legend

Hello,

I have a question regarding the distributed simulation in Plant Simulation. I'm running a very quick simulation, with only a few hours of simulation time. When I right-click the experiment manager and use "Show Distributed Simulation", I can see the time taken for each run. The first ones are usually longer than the rest of them. Is it correct to assume that this is due to the program starting on the remote host and transferring of the model?

Hi Verbalins,

at the beginning of a distributed simulation the controlling Plant Simulation can only look at one simulation machine. During the start phase the controlling Plant Simulation process is engaged in starting Plant Simulation on the simulation machines. This process must not be interrupted, such that the firstly started process must wait when its simulation is already finished. If you only use one simulation machine then you will not observe the first longer running time.

You have well observed. Thank you for the interesting question.

Regards,

Peter
