Re: Export As JT - Frames

Hello

Thank you for the information, was trying to read up about the JT file format after making my post (to see about making a post export comparer or something) and could not even find if it included a time stamp or not.

You have given me quite a few ideas as to what I could try to do, sure dumping out some extra information about the 3D graphic will not be to hard, guess I could also possible dump out the graphic tree as well so I will be able to monitor that for any changes (incase some of the graphics are rearranged). Might need to experment about materials and see if changing the material has a large effect on the other attributes or not.

Lots of stuff for me to now try to do, but this can all wait until after Christmas. Thank you again.

Hello

Have now got around to carrying on with this and have got most of it work now by dumping out data at the same time as when i save the 3D model and then when going to save it externally I check the data against the model to see if anything has changed.

Have added in a few extra stuff, mostly saving the position, rotations and scale of the different graphics but i cannot find a way to check for the material. Through testing this might be an issue as only enabling the graphic material has a affect large enough for me to detect and not changing a material that is already applied.

Is it possible to get the material of a graphic through simtalk?

I'm afraid that there is currently no way to read a material of a graphic via SimTalk.

For object materials on MUs, workers and stores, this is possible, but as of now, not for graphics.

Hello

Ok, thank you for your help on getting this done.

As a side note, did find the memory used quite strange as during testing it was not changing at all, then i closed and reopened the model and it started to change a bit (so have added a 10% tollerance when checking, yes i know even less chance of finding the change for materials).
