How do I program a Reset-Method?

Creator
Creator

So I just started using Tecnomatix Plant Simulation 13 today and wanted to program a Reset-Method, so that the TimeSequence gets deleted before every simulation run.

I proceded to drag and drop a "Method" from the toolbar under the "information flow" tab into my frame. Then I double clicked it to open and typed in:

is

do

timeSequence.delete;

end;

but when I run it, I get the message "The source code contains syntax errors.". What am I doing wrong?

Also since I'm asking anyways is there a big difference between TPS 11 and TPS 13?

yes, the version 13 uses by default the new SimTalk syntax:

change your method; only:

timeSequence.delete

Then rename your method into "reset"

I did what you said and it worked perfectly thanks a lot!

Regarding the versions. Do you, or someone else, maybe know where I can get TPS 11? When I go to the homepage to download the student version, the newest version TPS 13 automatically gets downloaded. Also I just checked out your book "Manufacturing Simulation with Plant Simulation and SimTalk". It seems that you used TPS 9 in that book, does reading that book help if I want to work with TPS 11?

Version 11 is no longer supported by Siemens. But you can switch off the new Syntax: if you open a method --> Tools - deactivate New Syntax
