How to create a solution to a assembly line?

Experimenter
Experimenter

We are simulating a painting line with the purpose of dimensioning buffers for car storage. These cars are custom-painted with a black painted roof, followed by a preparation line that takes 1 hour to prepare the car before it goes back to normal flow. Today, 1151 cars are produced per day, where 10 are cars with a black painted roof. Therefore:

How can we simulate, in a random way, that 10 cars of 1151 are destined for this line of preparation?

you could create a user defined attribute (e.g. contrastRoof, default value=false), than you could use the method z_uniform to create a random number, if the random number less or equal 10/1151 you set the attribute to true

e.g. exit control rear of the source

var r:real:=z_uniform(1,0,1)

if r<= 10/1151 then

  @.contrastRoof:=true

end

in your line you can define an exit strategy: MU attribute to split the flow between contrast roof and no contrast roof (see help)

Hello Steffen, thank you for the quickly repply.

Could you help me with other matter?

These cars with a black painted roof have priority to back to principal line. However, there are empty "skillets" that are passing for this principal line too, but it should have to stop and wait when the car back to the line. See the image in attachment.

I would like to know how can I do these priority issue.

You could use the pull control (method)
to list and select which car /body to serve next.

you could lock the exit of the principal line, if you enter the conveyour (entrance control) with the roof pained body and unlock the exit again, if the roof painted body is on the turntable (exit control rear of the conveyour).
