How to implement dwell time with triangle distribution

Dear Plant Simulation Experts,

 

Thank you for your kind support.

 

I have a quesiton about dwell time in Buffer object.

 

In Buffer object, dwell time should be entered with only 1 const value.

 

But, I want to enter 3 values with triangluar distribution into dwell time, Buffer object.

 

In case of that, how can I do it ?

quick answer: Sorry, you can't Smiley Happy

 

The buffer has only a constant dwelling time. Else, with random dwelling times (such as triangular distr.) the MU's would be able to overtake themselves while they are in the buffer. That is not allowed/possible.

 

Is this what you actually want? So that the 1st MU stays 2min in the buffer, the next 2.5min and the 3rd MU only 1.5min? Then maybe the 3rd MU can leave the buffer before the 1st one is finished.

If you want the MUs to be able to overtake each other in a "buffer", you can use a ParallelProc and set a triangular distribution for the processing time of the ParallelProc. On the tab Statistics  of the ParallelProc you can se the Resource Type to "Storage", so that the time in the buffer is not statistically counted as "Production" time.

Actually, What I want to know is that some area with the number of MUs which dwelled in the Buffer for 4 hours.

 

Then, If this dwell time is distributed with 3 ~ 5 hours, triangle distribution, of course this area with the number of MUs values will be changed and I want to know it.

 

That's why I am posting my quesion to this Forum.
