I want to discuss the Plant simulation first time at the workplace, Since it will be a new thing here, going directly for trial will be too fast. Is it possible to install free viewer license to just check the software and view some example model.
from Where I can install that?
Thanks in Advance!!
Solved! Go to Solution.
There doesn't seem to be a way to install the software with a viewer licence.
However, plant simulation models can be opened on systems which do not have the application installed with something called a 'Pack and Go' feature.
For this to work, it is to be noted that the creator of the model makes it available to you as a 'Pack and Go' (.exe) file.
It would be rather practical to get a trial version to be free to open any available (.spp) file.
Hope it helps.
Add: if a license - for example the 30 days trial - expires or gets otherwise invalid the software automatically falls back to the "Viewer License". You are asked when starting if you want to use the Viewer License if the given license is invalid.
I would also advise to install the trial version. After 30 days (or earlier if you like) you can configure in the preferences dialog (File > Preferences > License) that you want to use a Viewer License. Then you can use the software as long as you like. But, of course, you cannot model with a Viewer License.
You can then even copy the installation folder to other computers. Plant Simulation can be started without properly installing the software on the computer (although the .spp file type will not be registered, so you cannot start Plant Simulation by double-clicking an .spp file).
