I would like to know how you model machining centers with two tables (double work table)

As far as I know, there is only one spindle and the dual table is only for changing the workpiece.

 

Basically, translated to Plant Simulation, inside your CP8000 you have one SingleProc and a Buffer. The total number of MUs here is no more than 2 (the capacity of the table).

 

You can use simple entrance and exit controls to lock/unlock the entrances to the machine. If the input buffer outside the machine is seperate from its output buffer, you can model it as a sequential process. I have made a small example:

  • BufferIn/BufferOut are outside the machine
  • Buffer_CP8000 is inside the machine
  • The dual table is not modeled explicitly, but its capacity is reflected in the control rules
  • It has an exit strategu MU-attribute and sends the MU to either the spindle or to BufferOut
  • It has entrance and exit controls that lock/unlock the exit of BufferIn
  • It is event-driven, so it only checks the status when something relevant changes
  • You can change MaxNumMU to model a different capacity, e.g. a carroussel of pallets with workpieces
