Multi-level experiments design decrement values

Legend

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to decrement values when setting up a Multi-level experiment in the experiment manager? When trying out different proctimes for an existing process you want to know when you have improved it enough. Of course it's possible to go from the improved value first, e.g. from 50 to 100 seconds with an increment of 1, but this will show the results "backwards" in the report.

For one variable this is ok, it's possible to use Sort Descending in Define Experiments, but when using multiple variables this could hopefully be done easier.

Best regards

Hello Verbalins,

a Multilevel Experimental Design is impossible, since negative values cannot be entered into a cell of datatype time in a Tablefile.

But it's a reasonable extension for the future.

The attached model for Plant Simulation 12 shows, how such study can be performed by Rule-based settings.

We set the start values of the processing time of two machines in an init rule.

If the Throughput time is greater than 30 min then the processing time of both machines is reduced by 1 min in a rule Decrement.

Regards,

Peter
