Multiple MU's with different multiple processes

Hello,

I am new to this community as well as to Plant simulation and need a help to start up with.

 

I have around 28 (Should I place 28 Individual MU's here?) parts that are processed in a single machine with different processing times.

Next, among these parts 26 of them are sent to Process 2 and the rest 2 to Process 4.

At Process 2, I need to have 1000 parts each as buffer for 26 parts (Should I place 26 Individual buffers here?). Here these parts are combined to result in 6 new parts.

Process 3: After assembly, I need to have buffer for these 6 parts each with 1000 capacity.

Process 4: Here parts are processed on daily demand basis i.e. for example I process 100 parts per product. All these 8 products have a different processing time.

I also need to transport these parts using carrier too depending on the size of a product.

 

I would like to know how can I proceed with. Please do help me with this. I have also attached an image for reference.

to start:

 

- make 28 parts

- for each part its process

- after process2 and 4 --> to buffers ( exit strategy MU Attribute --> name) see help

- one buffer for each part (28)

- for each product one assembly station

I have few questions regarding the same model,

 

  1. I have created 28 parts using table haing their individual processing times. I want these parts to be carried using a transporter to the assembly section. These 28 parts with 1000 lot size produced in loop 1 have variable shipment quantities.
    • For example, in case of Part 1 - 50 numbers can be accomodated in a Transporter whereas in Part2 only 10 numbers. How can this be done?
    • I want the empty transporter to be back to its initial position after the delivery of parts.
    • Can this be done using Transferstations?
  2. In loop 2, these 28 parts delivered are to be sent to their respective assembly stations of a buffer 1000. Can this sorting be done using Transferstation too?

Please do suggest a solution. Thanks.

I would use a simple combination for sensors and methods on the track.
The method should do the following:
- stop the transporter
- set the capacity of the transporter
- load parts to the transporter until it is full
- start the transporter

for unloading:
- stop the transporter
- unload until the transporter is empty
- wait for the next job
- start the transporter

Should I use different Transporters for each part? (The quantity that would fit in a Transporter varies depending on the part size).

 

I am asking this because you have mentioned - load parts to the transporter until it is full.

you need only one, you can change the capacity dynamically e.g.

 

- set the y dimension value of the transporter to one

 

than you can change the capacity in the sensorcontrol with:

 

@.xDim:=newCapa

 

The transport capacities you can also define in a tableFile (part names as row index)
