In PlantSimulation a lot of demo examples are provided. I'd like to run all the interface demos. However, it seems to be a license problem. In the console it is written:
>>>license emplant_ifpack is missing.
or, text in german (because a german PlantSim is running)
>>>Fehler in Methode '.Models.ActiveX.AccessingXL.startExcel' in Zeile '6': Lizenz 'emplant_ifpack' nicht vorhanden.
Where to get that license?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You're right, many of these examples need the Plant Simulation Interface Package.
This is a license option which can be bought in addition to the general Plant Simulation license.
It has the product id TN75050. You can contact your sales representative to get a quote.
In case you are using the student license, you unfortunately don't have access to this license option.
Please let me add a question:
actually I'd like to create a prototype which should demonstrate a communication of PlantSimulation with our tools. PlantSimulation offers a lot of interfaces, e.g. TCP socket, com, ODBC and OPC are the prefered one.
Now the question:
Is it possible to run the demo-version in combination with the "interface package license", and will the interfaces become working ?
Thank you for answer.
when you talk of the demo-version, do you refer to the free viewer license or our free trial license?
The free viewer license should not be able to import or export data. Even if you have the interface package license you cannot use it with the viewer license.
For the trial license we have decided that the interface package is not important for doing an evaluation of the product.
Well, hard to say. It seems to be a trial version.
After registering at your homepage I got an email with the license file. Here it is described:
>>>Thank you for downloading the Tecnomatix Plant Simulation trial version.
>>>Included in this email is the license file to activate your Plant Simulation 30-day trial.
In PlantSimulation tool at the menu configuration - license - it is written:
kind of license: Educational
In the license-file byself it is written:
# --------------- ----- -------------------- ----- ---------------------------
# TN75040 1 Plant Simulation Edu 1 emplant_edu
# TN75096 1 VSM Library NL 1 emplant_vsm
Is it meaningfull to combine the "interface package license" with my product?
This is the trial version.
As mentioned above the interface package is not available for the trial version.
We assumed that no one will have time in the 30 day trial period to dig into our interfaces.
Ok. Good to know.
As already posted before, the trial version contains a lot of examples (models) to demonstrate the interfaces, e.g. Excel import/export.
However, now it's fact that in the trial version they can't be started.
Would it be possible to add a hint in the documentation, could be in the next PlantSimulation version.
We will discuss this and either add a hint or add the interface package to the trial license.
We had in mind to use the trial version for an OPC connection-test with PlanSimulation and one of our devices.
As noted before in the posts the trial version can't be used to test the OPC connectivity.
So, please let me ask a detail about your OPC version:
PlantSimulation 11 supports OPC DA client 2.0
Now, our devices runs a OPC DA server 2.05a
Is a connection possible ?
