I'm creating a production plant containing about 500 different articles, which will be represented by 500 entities. There exists a production dependency between the articles (some of the articles are components in other articles). Now I want to store the dependency and find a easy way to access it. My first thought was to create a tree and store the articles and their dependency as edges and vertices. Does anyone know how to create a tree in Plant Simulation, or does anyone have a better solution/idea to my problem?
I would add a user-defined attribute of data type 'table' to the Entity class (with one column of the data type 'object'). For each entity instance I would then insert all "directly dependend" entities into the list/table of that instance.
You can then recursively find all "indirectly dependend" entities starting at any instance (as long as the dependencies are not cyclic).
