Tool changeover frequency method

Hi everyone

I need a logic where i have n number of machines connected in series and each of these machines after processing say n number of parts individually, requires a tool change over because of the worn out conditions of the tool and this changeover of the tool may require x seconds and this changeover time differs from machine to machine.

Thanks and Regards

Sujith

Hello Sujith123,

on tab Set-Up you can select strategy 'After n parts'. On tab Times, you have to define the set-up time. You can use a constant set up time or any distribution function.

Hello

I tried this, if i use this logic and specify the setup time and make the
model run, the single proc remains idle for x minutes right at the start of
the simulation when the first entity enters though the settup strategy in
the setup tab is selected as n parts and after last part.

Kind Regards
Sujith

Hi Sujith123

One way to go around the first set-up is to use the following code in an init method:

singleProc.setupTime:=str_to_time("1")
singleProc.setupfor(.MUs.Entity)
singleProc.setupTime:=str_to_time("1:00")

You do this for each SingleProc. It is not pretty but it works Smiley Tongue
