Has anybody tried out with the toyota sewing manufacturing system. The process is as follows:
1.Each operator receives the work-in-progress at the starting point or from the former one, processes it till the end of the production line or hands it over to the next operator, then returns to the initial station. In this mode, the handover of work can take place at any time and any place.
2.For example : Operator1 and Operator2 hand over work at station3, but they may hand over work at Station 2 or 4 next time; after the handover, Operator1 returns to the starting point while Operator2 performs the work counterclockwise till the handover of work to Operator3.
Please let me know if you have a logic written or any similar example as such for the above mentioned problem.
I had previously gone through the example before posting this query, but the example is for the system without buffers, but in my case the former worker puts the part to the very next station which is not in his cell or in the buffer based on the next worker occupancy and need.
