coordinate3D

Hi,

I use Plantsimulation 14.0 with a full 3D model.

I would like to know the exact coordinate of a MU. There is an array with this coordinate => coordinate3D (x,y,z) but it seem to be bugy.

In this picture : coordinate3D.png

I have 8 mus stacked on a buffer. But when I read coordinate3D it is not Z axis that increases but the X.

Can someone from Siemens look at ? And say to me if it's a bug or a mistake ?

Regards,

First of all, despite its name, Coordinate3d is a property that is more suited for the 2D views.

For the positions of objects in 3D, you should better use _3D.Position.

That value is always given in terms of a position relative to its carrier object's position which might not always what you want.

If you are interested in a coordinate relative to any other object, you can use the function

_3D.getPositionOfObject(...), e.g.

.Models.Frame.Subframe1._3D.getPositionOfObject(.MUs.Entity:12)

If you replace the two absolute paths by whatever paths you want, this gives you the position of virtually every object relative to virtually every other one.

Thanks for your reply,

I will deepen the getPositionOfObject methode.
